FAQ

  • Are you a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) or financial advisor?

No, I'm a financial coach—not a CFP® or licensed advisor. I have a background in psychology and completed the Personal & Family Financial Planning program through the University of Florida.

Here's what that means: I don't sell financial products, manage investments, or provide fiduciary advice. Instead, I help you understand your money decisions, create personalized plans, and build the confidence to take action—without the sales pitch or conflict of interest.

  • What are your credentials and experience?

I spent nearly a decade teaching AP and IB Psychology to high school students, which gave me deep insight into human behavior and decision-making. I completed the Personal & Family Financial Planning program through the University of Florida to learn the technical side of money management.

For the past 6 years, I've been coaching professionals on budgeting, debt payoff, investing, and building wealth. Today, I also work in philanthropy helping families access resources to thrive.

My approach combines psychology (understanding why we make money decisions) with practical financial planning (the how).

  • What makes your approach different from other financial coaches? Money is psychological before it's mathematical.

Most coaches focus on spreadsheets and budgets. I focus on understanding why you're stuck—the beliefs, habits, and emotions driving your money decisions. Once we address the psychology, the math becomes much easier.

My background teaching psychology for 10 years gives me tools most financial coaches don't have. We'll work on both the mindset and the mechanics.

  • Which service is right for me?

Start with the free 30-minute consultation. We'll talk about where you are, what's keeping you stuck, and which option makes the most sense for you.

    Quick guide:

Just exploring? → Start with a $50 workshop (group learning)

Need flexible support? → $100 coaching sessions (book as needed)

Want to start investing? → $100 Index Fund session (focused topic)

Want a roadmap to implement yourself? → $297 Clarity Session (90-day plan)

Need structured transformation? → $997 Foundations Program (2 months of bi-weekly coaching)

Still not sure? That's what the free call is for.

  • Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! Payment plans are available for:

Financial Clarity Session ($297): Can be split into 2 payments

Financial Foundations Program ($997): 2 monthly payments of $499

Just mention you'd like a payment plan when booking, and we'll set it up.

  • Can I try one session before committing to a package or program?

Absolutely. Most clients start with either:

free consultation to see if we're a good fit

single $100 coaching session to experience how we work together

The $297 Clarity Session to get a full roadmap before deciding on ongoing support

There's no pressure to commit to anything long-term upfront.

  • What's the difference between the $100 coaching session and the $100 Index Fund session?

Both are 60 minutes and $100—the difference is focus:

1-on-1 Coaching = Flexible. We work on whatever's most pressing for you (budgeting, debt, saving, mindset, etc.)

Index Fund Session = Focused. Dedicated entirely to getting you started with index fund investing, including brokerage selection, fund recommendations, and your implementation plan.

Choose flexible if you're not sure what to tackle first. Choose focused if you're ready to invest.

  • What's the difference between the $297 Clarity Session and the $997 Foundations Program?

    Clarity Session ($297):

    One 90-minute session

You get a personalized 90-day roadmap

    You implement it yourself

Best for self-starters who just need direction

    Foundations Program ($997):

Four bi-weekly sessions over 2 months

    Ongoing accountability and support

    Email check-ins between sessions

We build the plan and implement it together

Best for people who want structure and support, not just a roadmap

Think of it this way: Clarity Session = map. Foundations Program = map + guide.

  • How do sessions work? Are they in-person or virtual?

All sessions are virtual via Zoom. After you book, you'll receive a calendar invite with the Zoom link.

This makes it easy to meet from wherever you are—home, office, or even your car during lunch break. All you need is a reliable internet connection.

  • What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens. Just give me at least 24 hours notice and we'll reschedule with no penalty. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may forfeit the session.

  • Do you work with people outside the U.S.?

Most of my clients are in the U.S., and my advice is tailored to U.S. financial systems (401(k)s, IRAs, U.S. tax considerations, etc.).

If you're outside the U.S., let's talk during the free consultation to see if I can still help with your specific situation.

  • What do I need to bring to our first session?

Nothing fancy. Just come ready to talk honestly about:

Your current income and expenses (rough numbers are fine)

Your debts (credit cards, loans, etc.)

Your financial goals (even if they're vague)

What's keeping you up at night about money

I'll guide you through everything else. No need to have perfect records or a detailed spreadsheet.

  • Will you judge me for my financial situation?

Never. I've worked with people in all kinds of situations—deep in debt, never invested a dollar, making six figures but still broke, completely overwhelmed, you name it.

My job is to help you move forward, not make you feel worse about where you are. Financial stress is real, and you're not broken for struggling with money. Let's figure it out together.

  • Can you help me pick individual stocks or manage my portfolio?

No. I don't pick stocks, manage portfolios, or provide investment management services.

    What I do help with:

Understanding how index funds work and why they're a smart choice

Choosing low-cost index funds for your situation

Setting up your 401(k), IRA, or brokerage account

Building a simple, long-term investment strategy

I teach you how to invest intelligently on your own—I don't manage money for you.

  • Do you help with taxes?

I'm not a tax professional, so I don't prepare taxes or give specific tax advice.

But I can help you understand:

Tax-advantaged accounts (401(k), IRA, Roth IRA, HSA)

How to prioritize accounts for tax benefits

Basic tax implications of investing decisions

For complex tax questions, I'll refer you to a CPA.

  • Can you help with debt payoff strategies?

Yes! Debt payoff is a big part of what I coach on. We'll look at:

Your full debt picture (balances, interest rates, minimum payments)

Psychology of why you're stuck (spending triggers, avoidance, etc.)

Custom payoff strategy (avalanche, snowball, or hybrid)

How to stay motivated and avoid burnout

Many clients come to me specifically for debt help, and it's one of my favorite areas to work on.

  • Do you help with credit scores?

    Yes. We'll cover:

How credit scores work (and why they matter)

    What's impacting your score

Strategies to improve it (payment history, utilization, etc.)

When to care about your score (and when not to obsess)

I don't do credit repair or dispute services—but I'll teach you how credit works so you can build and maintain a strong score yourself.

  • How do the Monthly Money Reset Workshops work?

Each month, I host a live 60-minute group workshop on Zoom focused on one money topic (Budget Basics, Investing 101, Emergency Funds, Money Mindset, etc.).

    What you get:

    Live teaching + Q&A

Downloadable resource (template, checklist, or guide)

    Community learning with other professionals

Workshops are $50 per person, limited to 10 participants so everyone can ask questions.

Check the website for upcoming topics and dates.

  • Are workshops recorded?

No, workshops are live-only to encourage participation and real-time Q&A. If you can't make it, you can register for the next one—topics rotate monthly.
